William Thompson

Mr. Thompson is an advisor and chairman emeritus of PIMCO. He previously served as chief executive officer from 1993 until his retirement in 2009, overseeing the firm’s global expansion. Prior to joining PIMCO in 1993, he spent 18 years with Salomon Brothers, including two years in Tokyo as chairman of Salomon Brothers Asia Ltd. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
